What is done when we carry out a full service on your vehicle?

 

To install protective seat covers and floor mats

Interior

  • Checking of dash lights

  • Condition of seatbelts

  • Operation of windscreen washers and wipers

Exterior

  • Condition of bodywork of all lights

  • Lubrication of all door locks and key barrels

  • Lubrication of door, bonnet and boot hinges

  • Check condition of all wiper blades

  • Checking and adjusting spare tyre condition and pressure

Under bonnet

  • Check and top up all levels

  • Add screen wash additive to washer system

  • Carry out a visual inspection of electrical wiring

  • Carry out visual inspection of all coolant pipes

  • Check condition of auxiliary drive belts

  • Check battery for security

  • Check top of radiator for damage/leaks

  • Replacement of air filter

  • Replacement of pollen filter

  • Replacement of oil filter

  • Replacement of fuel filter

  • Replacement of spark plugs (petrol engine only)

  • Carry out visual inspection of timing belt

Vehicle fully raised on the ramp

  • Drain engine oilearbox oil level

  • Replacement of oil filter (if not accessible from under bonnet)

  •  Visual inspection of engine for any oil leaks or damage

  • Visual inspection of radiator and cooling system for leaks or damage

  •  Visually checking of sub-frame for damage or corrosion

  • Visually checking exhaust system condition and security

  • Visually checking brake and fuel lines for condition, security and corrosion

  • Visually checking tyre tread depth and structure

  • Visually checking complete underside of vehicle

  • Refit engine sump plug

Vehicle half raised on the ramp

  • Full inspection of front and rear brakes (with the removal of wheels and rear drums where require)

  • Checking of front and rear suspension  (with the help of an assistant and lever bar to ensure any abnormal wear is found)

  • Checking of all flexible brake pipes for splits bulges or cracking

  • Checking and adjusting all tyre pressures

  • Visually checking all steering components for abnormal wear and tear

  • Checking of all wheel bearings for play, noise and roughness

Vehicle back on floor

  • Add new oil to engine and ensure level is correct

  • Clean engine and engine bay

  • Reset service indicator if fitted

  • To stamp service book

  • To carry out a road test ( checking clutch operation, A.B.S function, steering for pulling etc)
  •               To remove protective seat covers and floor mats
